History of Mosaic Services

Mosaic Services is a registered 501(c) 3 non-profit organization. It was founded in 2007 by an MRH Early Childhood Center teacher and her spouse, who became aware of hard-working parents and their children struggling to improve their situations.  They developed a program designed to prevent MRH families from dislocation and to increase MRH childrens’ academic success. Parents were provided with financial assistance and procurement of household goods. Childrens’ needs were addressed by providing after-school academic, enrichment programs, sports and arts opportunities, at no cost to families. As Mosaic Services evolved, it became clear that it was not enough to provide resources – the program needed to empower families to be better able to provide for themselves. Parents needed instruction and discussion about how to become better caregivers, improve their financial situations, vocational possibilities, and ultimately safeguard the well-being of their families. To meet these ends, Mosaic Services began to offer monthly parent meetings, with a parent liaison, to address issues of concern, such as nutrition, effective parenting, personal finance and stress management. Children of parents who participate in these meetings are awarded scholarships for an enrichment activity of their choice.
